Cryptid
cryp·â€‹tid ˈkrip-tÉ™d
Plural: cryptids
Definition: an animal that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist
Overview
Cryptid is a series of Choreography developed by Alexandra Verello designed to encourage the human form to stray as far beyond the confines of skin and bone as possible. As a former gymnast and lifelong athlete and dancer, Alexandra aims to encourage movers to initiate energetic transformation guided by sound, volume, and emotions. In this series, we will discover each dancer’s “Cryptid” through each specific piece, and work to differentiate the base choreography from its original form, into something truly unique, dancer to dancer, or cryptid to cryptid. Cryptid is a series of creepy, eerie, contemporary-adjacent pole & off-pole choreography, variations will be provided for many tricks incorporated.
Starts September 18th!

About Us
At Dakini, we believe that movement is more than just exercise—it’s a form of self-expression, a path to empowerment, and a celebration of femininity. Jeanine Caparoso, the creator of Dakini, envisioned a movement practice that seamlessly blends the strength of pole dancing, the fluidity of ballet, and the mindfulness of yoga. Inspired by the Dakini, a goddess of transformation in Tibetan Buddhism, this unique practice encourages students to connect deeply with their bodies, explore their sensuality, and cultivate self-love in a space free of judgment.
